On Friday, the Spring Festival Carnival hosted by the China International Youth Exchange Center was held in Beijing, showcasing Chinese culture and welcoming the Year of the Dragon.

According to the center, about 120 guests, including diplomatic envoys from over 30 countries and students studying in China, attended the event.

The carnival exhibited 12 intangible cultural heritages of China, including calligraphy, Paper Cuttings, tea culture and traditional clothing. Chinese and foreign youth discussed the meaning of "Chinese dragon", traditional Spring Festival customs, and how to wear Hanfu.

Nepalese Ambassador to China, Bishnu Pukar Shresta, expressed his pleasure to participate in the Lunar New Year Carnival with Nepalese students. He emphasized the importance of the younger generation in maintaining the long-term friendship between Nepal and China, and hoped that the youth exchanges between the two countries would be more in-depth.

Kazakhstani student Katyusha from Beijing Film Academy experienced Chinese culture for the first time during the event. She was dressed in traditional Chinese clothing, carrying a lantern with the word "fu" written on it, describing her experience as being in person.

As a student majoring in photography, Katyusha plans to create a series of works showcasing the unique aspects of traditional Chinese culture.

Starting from 2024, the Lunar New Year has also been officially listed as a floating holiday on the United Nations conference calendar.
