Post on 01/21/2024 | keywords:Lantern | Hits:96

The 40 day lantern exhibition is themed around the dragon and showcases various lanterns. The dragon is the Chinese zodiac sign of 2024. In 2008, it was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage, and this year it welcomes its 29th edition.

Similar to the previous episode, this year's program was also inspired by the Classic of Mountains and Seas, which was the main source of Chinese mythology over 2000 years ago.

The exhibition consists of five clusters of lanterns, depicting the magical scene of dragons harmoniously coexisting with various marine animals and plants.

In addition to colorful lanterns, the performance also includes a variety of cultural activities such as dance performances, intangible cultural heritage parades, as well as interactive activities such as markets and riddle games.

Except for the following periods, free admission is available: from 10am to 10pm on February 10th to 16th and from February 22nd to 25th; February 17th to 21st from 2pm to 10pm.

Tickets can be purchased online or at booths around Yu Garden, and the price ranges from 50 yuan (US $6.9) to 80 yuan.
