China's homegrown C919 jetliner flies on new regular route

The C919 is a large passenger aircraft independently developed by China, which began operating on a new route connecting the two mega cities of Beijing and Shanghai on Tuesday.

Flight MU5137 operated by China Eastern Airlines departed from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport at around 3:40 pm and headed to Beijing Daxing International Airport.

This marks the second regular route of C919, following the previously opened Shanghai Hongqiao Chengdu Tianfu route.
