China will implement a new railway operation plan from January 10, 2024, aimed at improving passenger and freight transportation capacity.
According to China National Railway Group Co., Ltd., according to the new plan, 233 new passenger trains will be added nationwide, bringing the total number to 11149.
After the adjustment, there are a total of 22264 freight trains operating nationwide, an increase of 40 trains compared to the current plan.
With the opening of new train routes and stations nationwide, this adjustment aims to strengthen the connectivity between Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area and Beijing Tianjin Hebei region.
Last month, several new railways opened. Having multiple new lines open, the schedule will be adjusted to add more trains to boost the railway transport capacity.
