A spokesman for the Ministry of Defense said on Tuesday that China was strongly dissatisfied and firmly opposed to the recent arms sales by the United States to Taiwan, China.
Spokesperson Wu Qian of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs made the above remarks in response to media questioning the recent approval of $300 million in equipment sales by the US State Department.
According to media reports, the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency stated that the sale is to maintain Taiwan's command, control, communication, and computer or C4 capabilities.
Wu added that the People's Liberation Army of China has strengthened military training and combat readiness, resolutely safeguarded China's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and firmly maintained peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.
